magnaflow performance help!
Has anybody on here tried the magnaflow race series mufflers on the 5.4Ls. Prefferably the 2009 models. Is there much difference between the race series and the regular universal. Looked on YouTube couldn't find any with the race series mufflers. Thanks guys
Race almost always just means it's smaller and louder. So if you want it as loud as you can get, tiny race mufflers are usually the ticket. Not going to see a lick of difference in performance by changing mufflers though.

Thanks I just seen where there website showed it was a lower decibel than most race mufflers not really looking for performance just good sound. The stock system sounds good just wanting a little more growl. What about a borla muffler?
Borlas sound much better, not even a comparison in my opinion. I have a Borla-made Roush muffler and love it. But if you think stock sounds good and just want a little bit more, a 22" Magnaflow would be good. For Borla, the center/center ProXS is what you want. For just cutting out the old one and slapping a new one in, it should be 2.5" in, 2.5" out. They may have bumped the exhaust diameter up from 2.5" to 3", but I'm not sure. All of the 04-08 5.4s have 2.5".
x2, nice sound, I will only recommend a Borla muffler. Solid tone with aggression throughout the RPM band. No rasp unless you make it rasp ( catless and longtube headers ).
Not always tru. Borla multi-core are for racing and they are designed to be quieter. In legal racing there is decibel restrictions. So Borla made the multi-core to before as same as the sportsman but a little quieter.

This goes tru for my 02. It got a little raspy at high RPMs with a Borla turbo muffler, LTs and not cats.
Most of the "race" mufflers from other companies just mean it's loud from what I remember anyway. Like all the smaller and knock-off companies. But Borla is actually serious, so I can see that. Their multi-cores are freakin expensive and some of them are quite long.

But that info i got about the decibels was straight from a Borla rep.
Not exactly but I bet your system does have some bark!
In that case I will never ever buy a multi-core.

It does! Haha but I actually like it cause it only comes out when I really get on it, otherwise it's just loud. So I like when the tone breaks and it barks, especially going under bridges and tunnels
