Decided on jones exhaust, but have a question...

Ok.....so i finally bit the bullet. Went with a jones exhaust di/do (magnaflow knockoff). But.....i also got an x-pipe. Called a local shop today to get an estimate, and was told to return the x-pipe, and spend that cash on tips, because the x-pipe in front of the di/do would mellow the tone before it even got to the muffler. Honestly, i got the xpipe, not knowing that that jones had a built-in xpipe.

Thoughts?

If the muffler has a built-in X-pipe, that's all you need. Return the X-pipe.

This. I don't know about mellowing the tone a whole bunch, but double crossovers aren't needed.

Thanks guys! Advice greatly appreciated, and taken. Just returned the xpipe, and got two 3x12 tips.....rolled 45's. Hope to get this installed on my next day off!
