Header clearance issues. Help please!!

So, I got headers and exhaust done and got my truck back last saturday. But, I'm having problems with clearance. The passenger side header is touching the firewall and the transmission where the starter bolts on..

Under a slight load with light acceleration I can hear the header tapping loudly on the transmission... It sounds like its hitting pretty hard but as soon as I accelerate harder the engine torques enough to stop it.

Since the header is touching the firewall, the sound transfers through from the engine. But, I'm not as concerned with this issue as much as how it hits the transmission.

Do you think it might tap enough to dent itself? Could the problem work itself out? What are my options? I really, really don't want to take out the header and dent it or pay someone to do it because I've already put a lot of time and money into this. Hopefully there is another solution.

I don't know that I can help at all, but I'm sorry to hear about the issue.

I run OBX longtubes on my 99, and I had to dent one tube on the passenger side, as it was hitting the frame rail when accelerating. It sucked to have to R/R the header, but the rattling it made was driving me crazy. The tubes are way too strong for the contact to force a dent into it, so you will have to solve the clearance issue with a big hammer.

Kinda sucks to have to go through all that install again, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Being cool isn't always easy.

Sorry guys, I've been out of town the last couple days. I have an 05 with a 5.4l and it's a 4x4. The headers are pacesetter ceramic coated as KMAC said.

I buzzed my bell housing down with a die grinder and bent the heat shield up where the header was fitting.
