2001 F250 5.4 ...need help with a complete exhaust
Hi Guys, sorry for the newb thread but I have not been able to find an answer through a few hours of searching this and other forums.
My Girl friend has a 2001 F250 2wd with a 5.4 Living in the midwest its basically falling off from rust. Needs to be replaced from the engine allllll the way back.
Everywhere I search though I cant seem to find a complete exhaust specifically for a 5.4 F250....lots of f150 stuff. I want long or short tubes..a Y, and a catback.
I found this....http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Catted-Exhaust-Header-99-03-Ford-F150-Triton-5-4L-/160410727027?vxp=mtr&hash=item2559397273
But I dont know if this will fit an F250. And if it does.. will it bolt up to a stock catback?
Can someone point me in the right directions please. Thanks!

Don't buy a complete exhaust. Buy it in pieces then have a reputable exhaust shop run the piping. It'll be cheaper and they can run it how you want it. I would suggest long tube headers, Maggy high flows, Maggy 2.5" to 3" y-pipe, then single exhaust to "muffler of your choice (Borla), then exit of your choice.
I suggest some kind of stainless. I live in the Midwest and I don't have it and my exhaust is starting to rust pretty good after 3 years.

This gets thrown around a lot and makes no sense. Mandrel bent 304 or 409 Custom exhausts are not cheap. I don't mean it in an attacking way, but to get a custom exhaust made the same way as a kit in my area is a lot. That's why my new exhaust has been on hold. 1700 or so all together, good work and parts ain't cheap.

I'm working as much as I can... Saving for school and a dew truck fixes. If all goes well late August ... I'm praying. I swear this is gonna be one of the most amazing exhausts ever done to this motor. The dodge cats are gonna unleash some more sound I think

I guess to make the ss custom exhaust cheaper would be to not get mandrel, but then you run the risk of having an elbow crushed to small.
From personal experience I had 2.5" non mandrel run on my exhaust and in multiple locations it was crushed down to 2" or smaller.
I've never actually had a ss exhaust made so I guess I'm just going off of what I read on here for that part. But area does have to do with pricing. Every area is different.

No matter what you tell your customer tho. They are always right. Ha The best you can do is steer them in the right direction. But in the end you get paid for whatever you do no matter if its better for the vehicle or worse.
Sorry for the hijack lol
