True Dual Exhaust

Hey guys im new to this website, seems like theres a lot of helpfull people out here. Anyways i have a 2005 5.4 f150 xlt. Bought longtube headers and want to replace the whole exhaust system. I want more power, a better 0-60 kind of thing. Anyways is there any true dual exhausts kits out there or what would the best performance wise choice for me be ?

Currently i have electric cut outs, performance tranny, cold air intake, diablo supersport tuner.

And after that, regear it. Truck doesn't need true duals for performance.

These fellers speak truth!

If it was MY truck, I'd ditch the Diablo and go with an SCT X3. That way you can get custom tunes fer yer mods, whatever they may be.

What tiny amount of HP you MIGHT gain at high RPMs, you're liable to lose that in low end torque with true duals. That is, unless yer tuned fer the true duals. Just another reason why a customizable tuning device is important.

Beside, you'll really want to be properly tuned fer those LTs too.

A properly sized true dual setup won't lose low end. There have actually been people that claim to have gained some lowend.

So while they may not give you much gains, and cost a bit more, some, like me, prefer the sound of true duals. I prefer true duals with a H-pipe. Others prefer the sound of a X-pipe.

I've got duals with x pipe. Without the cross over (actual tru duals) i did have low end loss. Once i put the x pipe in i gain some low end back and mid range torque. If you go duals go 2.5" non mandrel bent or 2 1/4 mandrel bent, to prevent piping from being squished down to 2" or smaller on some bends.

X2, 2.25" mandrel bent true duals is the best performing exhaust size on a small block V8 truck. However mandrel bent fabrication isn't very cheap, and is difficult to find.

The opposite of rich ha.
When you move the maf sensor in the flow of intake air it will be out of calibration causing a lean condition. 04 05 MY 5.4l came in a near lean condition from factory so adding an intake system will make your engine run very close to dangerously lean.
The safest intake mod you can do is the gotts mod.. It doesn't move the maf sensor from the stock location.
