one last thing I forgot, in order to get the rear O2 for the pass. side to fit they had to remove a portion of the heat shield on the truck that sits above where the cat goes. Not that big of a deal, mines been like that for over 4 years without any issues. All of this assumes you get a cat with the O2 bung already in it, if you are going to just use the O2 bung in the stock position in the pipe then disregard this info.

HI 97...
roger...
I have the 4.6 V8 and there seems to be a lot of room over the current "2" on each side old CAs CATS... this single HiFlow is a bit different (part number is different too).. my part is this number - 94306 - shop said they can cut out and weld in for $90 so that is 'very' fair.
Will advise. Many thanks

Update - rec'd the two CATS.
Will be installed on 6-28 and I will advise regarding ... noise vs sound and any CELs. The ideal for the install is to be sure the 'downstream' O2 sensor is as near as possible to the same distance from the 'motor' as the original. Of interest, my CA CATS are thrashed and chattering, they cannot be functioning and so far, no CEL. Looking to the Magnas to stop the ugly rattle and provide a far better (and perhaps a bit more HP too?) engine function.
Will see if I can get some photos too.

Exhaust Completed

Final - the Magnaflows 2.50" IN/OUT High Flow Catalytic Converter - Oval (94306) were installed onto my '97 F-150 4.6 V8 2whdr and WORK PERFECTLY. In conjunction with a new hi flow heavy duty truck muffler, the sound is perfectly mellow but free flowing. The MFs do increase HP and so did the removal of the Gibson and replacing with the high flow truck muffler. AND significantly, after 200 miles with the single CAT replacing the 2 CA Legal (not in CA anymore Toto!), not ONE CEL at all! Excellent improvement. I bought mine at Troyer, was treated well.
