2004 5.4l F-150 new exhaust system
2004 5.4l F-150 new exhaust system
Im looking to put a whole new exhaust system in my 2004 f150 because my cat is plugged. Since I have to reaplace that, its a good time to just buy everything new, possible duel exhaust.
It would be nice to have a little rumble (not to much), but i'm not sure where to begin.
I dont want to take out a loan to put this all in, just looking for something that has a little bit of sound, that doesnt break my bank
any suggestions?
Thanks

A "true" dual exhaust for your truck is gonna be pricey - better with a "cat-back" system. Replace the cat(s), and take your pick of several brands of cat-back systems. I have a '03 with a 5.4 and a Magnaflow catback dual sytem, and I love the sound. It has a nice V8 burble at low rpm; it sounds off great when I get a little frisky on the gas pedal, and only a moderate "drone" at highway speeds.
ok...i think im just going to get new cats and go from there.....might leave what i have or get something that has a little rumble
any suggestion on what to get for the cats?? been looking on the internet and seems like they are around $250ish??
Thanks

You're gunna wanna look for high flow cats. Magnaflow seem to be the best. To regain some money from the price of the cats you can scrap yours. I believe the 04s still have the 4 cat system so you're looking at maybe 150 bucks in scrap depending on where you live and the price of precious metal.
As for some rumble for cheap just replace the stock muffler with a muffler of your choice. I like Borla. But to each his own..
