Dumps

Is dumping your exhaust under the bed before the axle "legal", or are there any compliance laws that say the exhaust must exit outside of the bed? I know typically they say it needs to exit behind the rearmost doors, but haven't been able to confirm if it can be dumped under the bed. Some of you may know my system, it's 2.5" all the way back, Maggie hi flows, x pipe, and 5x11s (used to have 4x14 magnapacks, too loud) and it used to dump over the rear axle with double wall tips. Well the shop that did it kinda hacked it...they used 2.25 on the 2.5" muffler outlets and slagged the $#!+ out of it to fill the gap. I cut the tails off and was thinking just dumping out of the mufflers with turndowns now.

Best i can say is to check your local laws. There isn't really any laws that state where the exhuast must exit, just about how it needs to function.

Texas says it has to exit past or out the side the passenger compartment. So under the bed is behind the cab and therfore legal
