exhaust question

I have a 2007 ford f150 fx4, my future plans is a supercharger, i just got edelbrock shorty headers, now what i wanted was a true dual exhaust system, i was going to get a high flow cat but there isnt a high flow cat that has two seperate pipes, should i just cut right before the pipes meet then cut and bend new pipes? ( i have a pipe bender and welder) im sure somebody else has run into this before.

you'll need 2 high flow cats one for each side.

Hi-flow cat with two seperate pipes. So you want to run true duals. Just have a shop remove the OEM cats for hi-flow cats, and have your OEM Y pipe chopped out and run a mandrel bent 2.5" pipe from the left bank to run parallel with the passenger side bank.

If you have not installed the shorties, send them back and order longtubes as they are the only headers proven to gain horsepower and torque, which seems to be your goal.

Also, you do not 'need' true duals for good performance, but if you intend to be in the high rpm band most of the time it will work out. However I don't see why an FX4 would be.
