i have a 1998 f150 with the 4.6 v8 and i have a flowmaster 40 series muffler on it right now. the problem is , is that i am 16 and i want the loudest sound possible. it pisses me off because my friend has a 2001 v6 chevy silverado and put the same muffler on and his is so loud. how can i make mine louder . please help.

 

Well if all your concerned about is noise level, then go with straight pipes. Remove your muffler and run straight pipes all the out. That will be pretty loud. How loud is your Flowmaster 40 series right now? You might also want to try that Flowmaster Y pipe that replces your stock Y. Im not sure how well it works but ive nothing but good feedback on it. Right now with just your Flowmaster, can your people hear you coming home and going to school? let me know what you decide to do.

 

Here's what I did with my 4.6: I cut off the pipes coming out of the Flowmaster. Now my truck sounds like a Mustang with Flowmasters! I'm tellin ya, it makes a world of difference.

 

sorry....what? 'couldn't hear you for the ridiculous silverado without mufflers that just went by...... kidding.....

 

Do you guys know what straight pipes sound like on a V6......... Would they sound good
