8K Headers

Yeah yeah yeah, save your saliva, I know,...... I know...... "I got no brains, I'm dumb, I'm stupid, I'm....." and everything else you'd like to call me.

I don't care, I'm sick and tired of my custom headers, warping and cracking on me. I've gone trough 3 Gibsons and 4 JBAs, all failed. So, I'll pay the price to have some long tube headers fabricated which promises not to warp and/or crack.

At any rate, the material to have my headers fabricated has arrived. All headers and down pipes are made from rebuildable/repackable burns collectors from 321 stainless steel. The rest of the system is from 304 stainless steel including combo of V-band and slip joints.

Here are some of the pics I took today, enjoy:

This is my muffler:

Don't know much about headers, so no name callin from me! I'd like to see everything come together, and I'd certainly like to hear it when it's done. I've never seen a spittoon converted into a muffler before pretty interesting as well!

cracking and breaking headers? I am arriving late in the game but what type of use are you doing to creat that problem, and of course the easy fix is to use steel headers, not the much harder and easily cracked under race-off-road style of use stainless steel......easier to use, fab up and weld, regular mild steel headers must be good enough, beings over a million racers use them all the time, from stock classes to pro-mods monsters.stainless steel is for longterm stret use to prevent rusting out,or too "look pretty' etc..good luck with the build-up and show ua all your end product, good luck!

What are you going to do with 8k sets of headers?

im just messin with ya, can't wait for more pics and updates. What seemed to be warping and cracking your previose ones? Running through deep water with the exhaust real hot? I've never heard of anything like that before in such a short amount of time.

Excessive heat coming from the supercharger, then running it through mud as seen on the video down bellow, at time 1:30, it's what causing them to warp and/or crack.

Yeah, I'll be updating the tread as more parts arrive and the build starts.
