Hybrid cold air kit for the new (to me)2004 F-150

Thought id share my XLT 4.6L 2004 f-150. Im normally on Lightningrodder, but thought id share my new DD.Of course i went strait to the engine and started thinking. Ifs funny how we can't leave anything alone. I started with the intake, had an old mustang/lightning cold air kit. I think it worked out. Iv'e been collecting parts over the years and its funny how i always thought id need all my old junk. Im glad i kept everything. I ultimately want to swap out the 4.6 and swap in a Lightning swap. What to you think, seems like no one has done one on the newer model yet, i maybe wrong. If i go that route, seems like i have a long road ahead of me. I don't want a monster, just a good running truck that i can haul my family in. I already have my Lightning.

Good ol' MGD orta be along pretty soon.

If you don't have specific, custom tuning for that WASHOOBI, I hope you saved the actual CAI that came as original equipment on the truck.

The intake looks pretty good, but the reducer directly after the maf is not the best idea. The tubing diameter should be consistent for at least ~ six inches after the maf for consistent laminar air flow.
Maybe you could be a pioneer and fab the the first centri on a nbs 4.6? Procharger? You know you need boost.

The distal portion is a lighting cold air kit. It is the proper length and diameter. I like where your heading, but i really want to use the lightning setup. It's what I know, but im really swaying towards the idea of going turbo. My buddy has a turbo lightning and i really like what he's doing with his truck. Plus it will allow me to keep the 4.6 and come out cheaper than going 5.4 Lighting setup. Don't really know what im doing yet. Here's the only picture of my friends truck.
