Worth it?

So I have a $1000 to spend on the truck. Besides getting a tuner, I was thinking about swapping out my Flowmaster Super 44 for a Magnapack and adding a 4 x 18" tip (running SISO). I like the tone of the magnapack more and want some exhaust noise above 2k rpms, because that is where the flowmaster seems to go silent. My local shop where i have previously gotten work done quoted me at $200. Now the thing is, I'm only gonna be driving the truck for another year and a half, as then i'm going off to college and probably will have to sell my baby. So should i do it? Worth the money for the better tone? Any opinions or other ideas are appreciated.
Thanks

And if it helps to know i currently have 3" pipe running from y-pipe out with no tip.

The determination of whether or not modding your truck is worth it is really up to you. I personally wouldn't modify the truck if you are just going to sell it in a year or so. While I do enjoy my modified ECU and my exhaust I could do without them if I had to. If I were in your position I think I would save the money and put it towards books and tuition, but if you think you'll get $1000 worth of enjoyment out of those mods then go for it.

If your selling your truck in a year and going off to college, then why the hell would you blow $1000?

Having nice things and enjoying tinkering with them is an enjoyment all together, but put your priorities in place. Your the only one that can make that decision, but I think I would be saving as much money as I possibly could. Your likely to be needing it when your in school.
