yet another magnapack question....

i have a 2010 f150 reg short bed, i just ordered 2 3"in 3"out 4" wide magnapacks with a 3" in and out y pipe with some 3.5 by 8" tips...
i want the exhaust to come strait out the back.
im not sure where to place the y pipe or the magnapacks for the best performance and less drone.

Why did you get two 3" mufflers? You realize that is too large to run in a true dual format on a truck?

^ I agree. Use one of them and send the other back.

I don't think he's intending to run true duals because he says the y-pipe is a 3" in and 3" out. My suggestion would be to run one of the mufflers, get a 3" in 2 1/2" out y-pipe and send the other muffler back for a refund.

I was thinking run 2.5 out of the magnapacks. Just have them expand the pipe to 3"

Others might know better but I think you would be better to send the y back and get a 2 1/2 inch x and run true duals. Not sure about increasing size at the mufflers will help anything.

That sounds like your system is going to have a lot of turbulence, which tends to equal less performance. 2.5" pipes and components, and a real crossover would perform and sound better.

That's what lazy shop workers tend to say.

That's what I would do.

The x-pipe should be as close as possible to the original location of the factory y-pipe and the mufflers should be as close to the tailpipes as possible to reduce chances of drone.
