? for long time Magnaflow owners.

I have had the 3" maggie SISO system on my truck for almost 7 years now (last 2 of which the LT headers where installed) and I have nothing but good things to say about it up untill the last year. I was hearing some annoying buzzing sound and figured it was the U clamp starting to come loose because the tail pipe end section keep sliding down. But I went to go mess with it one weekend and the U clamp was rusted in place. So I had someone start the truck up while I was next to the muffler and it was the damn muffler. Also it is leaking from around the welded seam of the muffler. Anyone else have this kind of problem?

Thanks

You live in a harsh environment for exhaust systems. If you wanted a system to last forever, I would suggest a Borla kit. 100% T304 top shelf stainless steel. 1,000,000 mile durability.

I sucks, but just get a new muffler of the same one you have. 7 years is pretty good

My magnaflow TRU-X rusted out in 5 years. Get stainless and no more worries.

Might want to opt for 304 stainless. Magnaflows are 409 mostly.

The outside of the muffler is not realy rusted, just a little around the seams. I will have to take some pictures of it, how in the heck do we post pictures on this website again. If I remember we have to get them hosted some where and I cant remember what to do next.

btw does any one care to hear what my truck sounds like. I am getting a new camera soon and I want to try it out. The truck has Dynatech long tubes with cats and single 3" muffler and troyer tunes.

Go to user cp, pictures and albums. Then upload you pictures there. Once they are uploaded, you can post pics.
