Rear Cat delete or gut?

I have an 04 new body style with 5.4. It has magna flow 14" mufflers which is louder than stock but not much. I want to remove the rear cats but also still need to be able to pass emissions in GA. They sometimes use a mirror to look under the car at the cats i assume, but since my truck has 4 cats stock is it legal to cut 2 of them off. I have heard that removing the rear 2 cats will not throw a code because they are after the o2 sensors. Is that true?

What are the Pros/Cons or removing or gutting the 2 cats? Will i still pass emissions (including a visual)?

Thanks

IMO you should either remove or replace with high flows and not gut. You could get a decent chunk of change for scrapping the old cats.

Ok. Where would I sell them? Would it hurt performance/gas mileage or become illegal without the rear ones?

Local scrap yards. It depends but some people get 50-90 bucks average each depending on condition/ yard which would pay for the replacement pipe and then some. Nope if anything it should help, but I haven't done mine yet I'm getting high flows installed this week. Idk about the legality of it because I live in FL and they dgaf.

Ok, Tell me how yours turn out. I would love to install high flows but they are just too expensive for me right now.

Not a good answer..........But I also see you have removed your cats, so you are not in compliance with the law.

Removing the 2 rear cats didn't throw a code on my truck. Been well over a year. Didn't notice any gain in gas mileage or power, just more exhaust volume.

i have the stock 4 cats also since my truck is an 04, im probably going to be getting my back 2 gutted since i already have 2 up front, from what ive read on here not many people have had codes tripped if they were cut off after the O2 sensor.

as for legallity, not sure, where i live they dont do E-checks so im not worried about it.
