So FELLER,

Before you go bashing on Magnaflows, MAYBE you should read The Exhaust Guide & do a little research.
IDK whats it with you, but with all of us F-150 owners on here telling you what will be the best exhaust, you STILL don't want to listen, well your buddy I should say.
I guess you guys still have 17 year old HighSchool ears and want your trucks obnoxiously STUPID loud! Hell, if y'all wanted that, why not get the Ol' Redneck sawzaw, and straight-pipe it OR your buddy can be smart and wise, and have a good flowing exhaust on his truck with some depth, volume and deep smooth tone to it that doesn't sound like Rusty-Jacks Old' 79 beat up Chevy!
Ehh, but each to its own.
Give me a Magnaflow OVER CHOKE/TRASH/****/BLOW-Masters any day.
I'm done wasting my breath now..

Tarajerame has been on these forums for years and knows his taste in exhaust notes and knowledge in performance. People have their taste. Some are band wagon folks, some are universal like me. I would run a Super 10 series if I was offered a SI-DO for the right price. I would rather buy a Magnapack for the price and the high rpm performance. Point being Tarajerame is cool and knows what he is talking about. Just doesn't like the sound of them. That is fine, some chambered mufflers sound good, my old '05 Silverado 2500HD sounded great with Super 44s. If people put Flowmaster, a product he likes, down in a negative manner, he sound have the right to voice his opinion also. Not fueling any fires, just saying .

Lol. The exhaust guide huh?

maybe you should do some research on people, their qualifications, and their TRUCKS. (like you mentioned do some research) Well I did a quick scan of ALL YOUR posts and you have only posted in 2 forums on this board. Street scene and the intake/exhaust forum with 3/4 being in the intake/exhaust section. You have 58 posts and have been on here less than a year. Now lets look at tarajerame 11,000+ posts dating back to April 2004. The exhaust "Guide" was written just over a year ago.

Seeings how you don't branch out of the exhaust/intake forum pretty much at all. I will fill you in a bit on TWO of tarajerame's truck. His one truck is a 03 harley edition f150. Its a factory supercharged f150. Same supercharger as the svt lightning. Now his "CHOKE/TRASH/****/BLOW-Masters" equipped truck is quicker than his harley.

Sweet n low. It is guys like you that made tarajerame leave these forums before. Thankfully he came back. Tarajerame is one of the MOST knowledgeable people on these boards and you are insulting him.

Hey look a bandwagon! Lets go jump on it!

I will bet you have never installed a flowmaster on your truck. I too am seriously considering ditching my magnaflow for a flowmaster. I am not a fan of magnaflow but got this muffler with my headers and decided to try it. Not a fan of it and will be switching to a chambered muffler. Love the sound of them

First off, Mr. Gotts2Be, do you reallly think I care about how many posts I have or as if that matters? Secondly, thanks for checking my history! I didn't know guys on F150online checks history of other Users ! Like really? Please find something else to do with your time bud...
This is not the only forum I'm on! I got on here very rarely so to say I don't know what Im talking about on this matter or don't know what Im posting would be dumb. I like being the underdog sometimes, sit back & see what people are saying and doing on her....NOT running my mouth on every post k?

& its a forum. Get your panties out of a wad! They have thousands & thousands of members. Who cares who leaves and comes?
And I'm insulting him? Cry me a damn river! I've read other guys posts about how people feel about Flowmasters so the little "CHOKE-MASTER" joke I said really isn't that serious!
And its guys like YOU, who take these forums to heart and think you're above soo many people because you've been a member longer!
I just wasted 2 minutes of my life with all that ^^!

BACK TO THE SUBJECT NOW....

bring your truck against my Daily Driver, Flowmaster equipped truck both trucks as they are and see what happens at the drag strip and road course

my 50 series isn't very loud and MUCH MUCH QUIETER than majority of vehicles on the road today with modified exhaust systems

even the fastest truck on this site runs flowmaster mufflers on it

the exhaust "guide" was written by a magnaflow leg humper, and when someone can show me accurate data that flowmaster mufflers cost torque and power (since Mike Troyer couldn't do it) then I still won't consider changing my good sounding exhaust for a raspy magnaflow one

the truck hasn't moved, so I went over there today and convinced him to go get a 45* elbow and try it before he does anything else

Hi There,

I have some experience with Borla; however, with another vehicle.

I installed a Borla Classic S-Type cat-back system in my C-5 Corvette and the drone was terrible (almost produced headaches).

I sold the system to a road racer and bought a system from Corsa. The Corsa system did not produce a drone.

Don't know if Corsa has a system for your vehicle; however, I do know (from experience) that Borla can produce a drone.

Best wishes.

People, people, in the grand scheme of things, the brand of muffler you decide to go with has very little impact on the performance of a vehicle and very much to do with how a person wants their vehicle to sound. Obviously, tarajerame prefers Flowmaster. And, from being on these forums, I know that he has listened to both brands and still decided on going with Flowmaster. Why? BECAUSE HE LIKES IT, THAT'S WHY! A Flowmaster 40 series SI/DO setup was the first exhaust system on my truck...I loved the sound, but the drone did get a little annoying at times, so when I found a steal on a Magnaflow 15609 cat-back system, I thought I'd give it a go. My butt-dyno saw no difference in power between the two systems, just a change/decrease in sound - that's all.

Now, on to tarajerame's question...I would think some kind of straight-thru muffler that would act like a resonator would be most effective. I've had turn-downs before and they did nothing but almost shake the inside of the truck because the drone was so bad. If there's any way at all to get the pipes routed to the outside of the truck, it will also help.

^^speaking, of course, just about muffler choice. A performance increase might be noticeable whenoving from SI/DO systems to true duals.
