Thumbs up gotts mod or no...

I've been contemplating doin the gotts mod for a month of so now. I've read all the threads about it and it's definitely a cost friendly mod and i just enjoy workin on my truck and learnin new things. The only thing that's really stoppin me is I'm just worried to do it cause my truck just hit 160K this week and i don't know if the high mileage on the engine if it would be good to modify the intake... so is there anything i should be worried about? Or should i go for it lol. Thanks guys appreciate it!

Go for it. It will not hurt your truck. Plus, if after doing it, you are not comfortable, ity is easy to undo, at least it is on the 2004 up. My 2005 has almost 135,000 on it and has had the mod for about half of that.

I did it to my truck for the same reason you are thinking about it. It was a fun little project to do and really easy. As far as power gains i didnt notice much. The sound is a little different at first but i got used to it quickly. It may be a little more noticeable if you dont have an exhaust....hard for me to hear much between my subs and the bullet lol. I'd do it.

I didn't see any big changes by doing the Gotts mod by itself, but combined with a cat-back exhaust and a PHP custom tune, I certainly noticed the change.

I've posted on this previously - I seem to get the same gas mileage now at 70-75 that I could formerly only get at 55-60. So, it seems to have improved my mileage about 0.5 mpg.

Well I did it today when I had some spare time and it definitely feels like the truck breathes a litttle better. I didn't really do it for the performance but it felt a little smother in the higher rpm range. I'll see about the mpg's this upcoming week
