Listen to your mother and put a stock system back on it.

I didn't know v6 could be inline.

What are the benefits of a stock exhaust if I want an aftermarket one anyway? It's my truck, not hers.

Usually we get aftermarket exhaust for the sound. Exhaust wont do much performance wise. Don't let anyone here (or your mom) tell you what to get. Its YOUR truck, do what you want. If your just worried about the inspection then take it to a shop and see if it will pass. If you don't care about sound then keep it stock. If you do care about sound then just YouTube some videos and see what you like. Do NOT buy kits like stated earlier. Be careful as some muffler shops wont install customer brought parts.

My mom is trying to make me buy a brand new stock exhaust system and doesn't understand why i would rather get an aftermarket one. I know close to nothing about truck exhaust systems so i had no idea what to look for. Thanks for the advice though and i guess that is what i'll do.

Which of these would be better for my 4.9 v6? Also what size options?

I always thought an aftermarket exhaust was a huge performance upgrade since that's how it is with quads and dirt bikes.

Do I need a 2.25 or 2.5 inlet/outlet to replace the stock muffler? I measured the circumference and it looks like the diameter is 2.25.
