Ive got 2 1/2in pipe exhaust with a dumped universal single chamber magnaflow and i just deleted the rear cats ...i was wondering while ive got it all unhooked if i should cut it where ive only got about 3-ish feet of pipe before its dumped. Right now the openings about a foot from the rear axle. Will it enhance the rumble at all? And im completely naive on backpressure, will it effect my torque to much if i cut it short? Thanks

If you want it louder on the outside as well as the inside, have it exit out the side or back with a tip. Shortening the dumped pipe will just make it louder inside the truck and increase drone.

 

Gotcha, thanks. So Extending it out wont decrease the rumble/volume? As of right now i dont have a tip on the end, any suggestions for tip sound? Or do tips really even have an effect...

 

Bigger tips, bigger sound. No other way around it.

Run you a pair of tip out in front of the rear tire and smile. Dumps kill your sound.

 

Torque, hp, and mpg will NOT be affected.
