Talking true dual side exit????

how come ive seen like one of these setups. seems like the way to go imo.
i have siso side exit now, paid $80, great upgrade.

but after my 2v 5.4 swap w/ shorties, my mid pipe bolted right up but the angle is way off, i have an exhaust leak that comes and goes. i want to cut the pipe where it "Y'', get the angles right and run true dual side exit no mufflers/no tips for now and see how it sounds. while the exhaust is off i plan to gut all the cats.

im getting a dyno tune soon and i think they can turn off the rear o2s with the SCT custom tuning they use. im gonna double check. otherwise ill have to buy the simulators or make my own. i was wonderin if does throw a code, maybe i could try to coat the sensors ins spray paint, or jb weld or something. might that work??

ill keep you posted. my goal is smoke a the 3 valves with my stx.

Most muffler shops won't touch cats, just gonna throw that out there so you might have to cut them off before you take it in. As for true duals I'd consider an x-pipe somewhere in there so you can equalize the pressure coming from both sides of the engine.

I don't even know where to start here...

let's try to point out some things for you to reconsider.
1- no muffler
2- no tips
3- gutted cats

^ These 3 things will all lead to a sound of very poor quality.

Y'a know, to save on pipe costs .... just have shop plumb exhaust from the end of exhaust manifold over to front end of the long chrome tube step nerf bar and remove the plastic cap at the back ..... "heated steps".

It's just a joke folks.... really!

True side exit duals is hard to do because of the gas tank on the drivers side.

Here is my truck with true dual side exits. It still has all four cats, but no muffler. I asked the shop that did my exhaust about getting two cats removed later on, and they immediately refused. Anyways, The sound is simply amazing. It's deep, but not super loud. My friend has the same setup, but with only two cats, and his has a lot more of the "popping" noise when he gets on the gas.
EDIT: Just realized you want to run a pipe out each side. That was my original plan until the shop reminded me of the gas tank being in the way. So I settled on the passenger side, and don't regret it at all.

This is a good way>>click link>>https://www.f150online.com/forums/ex...-idle-rev.html

I know you have a 2v motor but you'll be getting a good tone and sound if you do your exhaust like this.....

That's...that's just crazy enough to work lol . Wonder how it would sound, in reality...can't exactly put a chrome tip on your steps

Talk about having a hot foot

thanks for the pics GA4x4!!! i was thinkin something like that. i like the setup. not the crimped bends so much but prolly dosnt matter with true dual 2.5. could of threw a x pipe in too just for good measure.

when i said true dual side exit i meant same side.
im planning on cutting off the rear cats and letting the shop deal with the rest. what they dont know....im surprised the muffler shop didnt give you any problems with running no mufflers.

im looking at a magnaflow muffler DIDO, hopefully it has the similiar effect as a h/x pipe

whats your guys problem with jb welding the sensors- its so crazy it just might work
im gettin a tune and keeping the pre cats so its no an issue anymore

i only paid 180 for the shorties and i thought thed fit better the 4.6 mani s. LT would be a gamble- but so was the 2v 5.4 swap

now the heated sidesteps, thats an idea. kind of like my 68 stingray i just inherited

^ Are you serious about the jb weld dude? I really hope your joking. If you going to tune it anyway, then just leave the rear o2 alone. Delete them with the tuner.
