is this going to hurt my truck?
Hey all, so I have a question for you. I will be driving the truck(05 f150 FX4 w/ Skyjacker 6" lift, 35's and PHP CS) down to florida from iowa on monday. The exhaust is cut off right before the old flowmaster muffler, so right now its the two cats, a Y pipe i believe, then a 2-3 foot pice of straight pipe and thats it..
I've been driving the truck like this for about 2 weeks now, no significant distance, just up to omaha and back a few times, mostly around town.. but i can tell my truck seems to be running a little wierd at times, especially at low speeds(less than 30mph), it feels like it bucks, almost like its missing.. no CELs, CS is showing a P1000 code, but saying its unkown, and RPMS dont drop when it does it, doesnt sound different, just feel it in the butt dino and in the pedal.
SO, should I be worried about driving the 1K+ miles down to florida with the current setup? I really dont have the $350 to have the guy install the magnapacks, xpipe and tips, gotta pay for gas lol.
Thanks all!

yeah, it must be the 3 foot pipe after the y pipe that is quiting the truck down, or my hearing is alot worse than I thought, cause its not that loud to me at all... Im actually hoping the magnapacks louden and deepin it up a bit

Wait until you are a few hours down the road cruising...then you'll start to want a quieter truck. I went from may magnaflow 40 (one that really isn't much louder than stock) back to my stock exhaust with the tip cut off after the axle (for aesthetic reasons).

He did say he would do the install if it was cut prior to him touching it. So, 5 mins w/ a Sawzall and I was off to the shop.
Good luck and post photos.

thanks all! meatwagon, that looks pretty much like my setup right now.. It is loud as hell on cold startups and gets pretty loud on WOT, but not very deep, which is what im looking for! Today driving home from my brothers house, 60mph i could BARELY hear the exhaust at all.. Thats at 1700is RPMs
