Which X-Pipe?

Doing the exhaust on my 08 FX4 when i go home on leave in September. I know for sure the Magnaflow Hi Flow Cats, X-Pipe, and Flowmaster 44's. My question is other than the cats, how do i know which x-pipe and 44's to go with? Looking at Summit Racings stuff there are 100's to choose from. Anyone got suggestions on which to go with? Maybe a part number?

I was thinking 2.5 but really not sure. I have never had all new pipes ran before. Always just had flowmaster mufflers put on by the muffler shop.

Go 2.5". Buy a 2.5" X pipe with 2.5" mufflers. Your whole exaust (manifolds back) will be 2.5".

you should also look at the exhaust guide sticky. itll tell ya all bout exhaust. it says 2.25 pipes are for top end power and 2.5 is for low end i believe. it all depends on which you want more. and for x pipes id get magnaflow. good quality, plus the smoother sound.

I think you got that backwards. I'm pretty sure 2.25" is for low-end power and 2.5" is for high-end

"Pipe size is different on true duals. There are 2 main diameters that members use. 2.25" for low end torque, and 2.5" for top end power. Sound quality also changes ever so slightly with the 2 sizes, the bigger being slightly deeper. Other than that, you can't tell a difference in the pipe size by just listening.

I should also mention that too small a pipe size can run the risk of choking the engine, hindering performance. Going too big also hurts performance. So keep it at either 2.25", or 2.5"."--- quoted from the exhaust guide

You should try changing that up sometime, there are a hell of a lot better sounding, and performing mufflers out there.
