Alright, I'll throw this one out there and see what you guys can give me for ideas. I just installed a S&B CAI on my 06 150. Since the install I have noticed some pretty heavy, exhaust?, drone, uncomfortably loud in the cab. Anybody else have this intake and a similar issue? I'm wondering if I have to change out mufflers for something a little higher flow but at the same time I have a hard time believing a CAI caused that much of a difference. I'm running a v8 5.4 flex with the S&B CAI, edge lvl 1 tuned, with a Borla split rear exhaust (stock headers and cat). Any help/ideas would be awesome. Thanks

 

When the S&B intakes were real popular to purchase back in 2008, customers did report complaints about cabin drone. Some actually went as far as selling them and going DWV home made mod.

 

so what im gathering is that a cai will increase the exhaust level. is this true? im not wanting any drone inside at all. do want a little noise outside maybe a magnaflow 22" or 24". maybe that would keep the drone down???

 

They're talking about cai drone....it doesn't happen on every truck and some get it worse than others....your exhaust can be completely stock and cai drone can still occur.....

There is muffler drone also.....
