Y Collector Installed
Hey people!,
The flowmaster Y collector is installed and already having an impact on the exhaust sound and mpg.
The sound is definately deeper, not necessarily louder, but with more of a rumble/growl to it.
And for my last tank of gas, the mpg were up to 13.5 (previously 12) and I think it can even be better if I could just resist the urge to stomp it just to hear that growl!
During the install, I took a look at the stock y pipe and to be truthful, it was not as bad as I had expected.
Where the driver side pipe joined , the stock y reduced the 2.5" pipe down to about 2" (just a tad below 2) but the left side seemed relatively unhindered.
Nevertheless, that minor restriction did have an effect on the performance because I have noticed that some of the low end power that was lost when the Flowmaster 40 system was installed has been recovered.
Anyway , I will keep monitoring the performance and keep you posted.
