Drone in the cab

Hey all, I am looking at getting exaust redone to be quiet. I want to be able to here a little rumble outside of the truck, but nothing on the inside anymore. I currently have true dual straights with an x pipe with 4 in tips turned down behind the back tires. The drone at 60 is unbareable, you can't here the radio, and going through the gears isn't any better, I had 2 magnapacks on it and drone was terrible, so I had them cut off, didn't get better. Thinking of running a si/so to stock location with stock looking tip, or running 2 4" tips straight out the back. I want maximun performance, torque... What size piping and muffler do you recomend from the cats back. this is a 2010 lariat screw 4x4 Thanks a million

You can not run straights and expect no drone.. You will need oval bodies to deaden the interior sound. Magnaflow 14" or 18" oval bodies depending on how much noise you want outside.

For true duals, 2.25" mandrel bend, for single, 3" mandrel bend from the Y pipe to muffler, and 2.5" tailpipes, or 3" tailpipe is exiting stock style.

If you still have droning, remove the exhaust tip.

I still think Corsa should be at the top of the list. They are designed not to drone.

Not to hijack, but I'm looking for the same type of info for my upcoming exhaust build.

I contacted Borla and they recommended the P/N - 400436 over the P/N - 40665 for little to no drone. The 400436 is the muffler used in the 140136 kit. I performed a web search on "2011 F150 5.0 Resonator Delete" and found a YouTube clip of a resonator delete. The delete sounds throatier than the oem muffler, somewhere between a Gibson and Magnaflow system. I contacted the performance exhaust shop that handles all my exhaust work. They qouted $45.00 to remove the resonator and install aluminized pipe, they qouted $85.00 for SS pipe. I plan on stopping by this weekend to have them look at it. I think that is the best option for me. I do not want the exhaust drone at 2000 RPM's on the highway.
