I have a 03 Powerstroke with 4'' exhaust on it now sounds good but want it a little louder will putting a straight pipe on it hurt it. and will it make my fuel mileage go down

Buddy of mine has a 2006 5.9 3500 that had a straight pipe. Sounded 100 times better. Mileage will go down a bit, just because you will love how it sounds so much, you will never take your foot off the pedal. lol.
It will do more good than bad. Go for it buddy!

I straight piped my 2000 5.4 and I go through gas cuz I stomp on it constantly!!

 

I would never straight pipe a gas truck, but diesel on the other hand

 

Well I usually wouldn't either but I got these sick high performance mufflers and it sounds like a beast ha I'm gonna put up a video soon

Ugh well they are custom mufflers but I used flo pro mufflers and my friend messed wit em a bit and they sound real good now! Almost like a mix between bullet and 40 series flowmaster!

 

str8 piped my 5.4! sounds amazing!
gettin new long tube headers-x pipe- k&n cold air intake!
and taking off catz..
