2004, 5.4, F-150 Headers and High Flow Cats Install

Haven't posted for a bit, or done any upgrades to the truck for awhile. The truck is getting some new ceramic coated Pacesetter Headers (shorty style) with Magnaflow HighFlow Cats (only running 2 instead of the 4 OEM ones). The truck is in the shop right now being worked on, will be done tommorrow. I'm going to post pics and a video for all that are interested. Truck already had a Gibson Super Truck Exhaust, but was way way to quite. Hopefully this gives it alot more bark.

p.s. on side note 2" Daystar Leveling Kit is also going on with it...

If you dont have strict emissions testing, you should have went with longtubes from a different company instead of shorties. But im curious to hear the gibson with high flows.

At least you didn't go LT actually, no offense but with the junk made by Pacesetter, you will be glad you didn't pay a high install fee on their longtubes.

Why are the pacesetters considered junk? I have had no problems with them going on two years now.

The fit and finish can always be better. Plus us northern folks who get the winter road salt, they rot right up. Being ceramic headers they don't stand a chance. So that is where my opinion of junk product comes from. Anything that is true stainless is the only thing worth investing the money into for such a pita time consuming job that you only ever want to do once and not repair it later. Did not mean any offenses to any of the customers out there, just stating my personal opinion and why.

Here is the first video... going to get more videos in the next couple of days... I don't think this video does it justice, this exhaust is extremely loud with high flow cats!!

And more open outlet manifolds. Sounds good. Finally a good sounding Gibson system. Can't imagine Dynomax Bullets or Magnapacks.

I was doing some work on my truck, brakes and tightening the headers down... I found a hole in one of the welds, behind the driverside cat, that was making a annoying exhuast leak noise. I thought it was from the headers not being tight enough. Needless to say I was pissed that the shop didn't correctly weld the new piping! I have to disconnect the pipe from the header and a band clamp from the Y-pipe to get it down and weld it, as the hole is at the top of the pipe, where I can't get at it. Plus I have to take a welding safety class at the Automotive place here on base before they'll even let me touch the wirefeed welder?! ANNOYING!!!
