Borla Question
Exhaust Install Cost
While we're at it...
What is a good price on install of my true dual system?
I have the cats, mufflers, x pipe and tips. I just need labor and the rest of the 2.5" pipe.
One local place quoted me $200 while another said $350.

I got charged $250 for 409SS 2.5" tubing to finish up my duals. Tubing was $200 of it. They charged me $125ish for the the installation of my cats. I do not recommend going less than 409SS.
dayum....i've been quoted $400-450 for 409SS 2.5" pipe at several different shops around my area. Should I order the pipe off the internet and have a shop install it? If not, I'll just go with 14 guage aluminized i guess...uggghh
No, do not go aluminized. They want $450 for all that SS. Mine was $100 per 10 ft stick. Ripoff. Now they quoted me $250 per stick for 304SS. Disregard my comment on your other thread then I guess. I think Performance Peddler has SS tubing. Check them out.
If the $450 is for all the labor and the SS then it's a decent deal but if it is just for the tubing that's horrible.

just received my Borla XR-1's from UPS... expecting my x-pipe, cats and tips by Monday the 23rd. will have pics and videos asap...
oh, the $450 was for the 409SS tubing AND install... I think I have them talked down to $400 though...

Then it's reasonable. Most of your install is going towards cutting out those cats and fixing it back up. I was out $225 just in cat work counting the purchase of the 94106s from Performance Peddler.
i had a buddy argue with me about the cost of my high flow cats. he said they should be more than $50 a piece, more like $200 a piece. is it b/c the magnaflow 94106's are universal?
just wondering...

Yeah. OEM converters are really expensive.
IMHO, I would wait to pull/change the converters....it just shouts "impound Me!!!" and this can be done by any local, state or federal law enforcement officer, Fish & game Warden, USDA, EPA rep or the state DMV (once a mechanic or smog tech reports it).
I'm pretty sure high flow cats are legal in every state except California.
gonna be at least two more weeks. got an email from performance peddler saying the magnaflow x pipe and high flow cats are backordered and won't be ready until 5/27...bummer
