Gibson???

What do you guys think of Gibson exhaust for my 2006 F150? How does this brand compare to other top exhaust systems? I particularly like the swept side exhaust system.

Thanks.

The Swept Side is a great system especially if you do a lot of towing. It is dyno tested to operate between 1300 and 3000 RPM's, where most people keep their RPM range in normal driving. I recommend the Stainless over the aluminized. I have read and heard from a co-worker that the aluminized mufflers sometimes rust out or have internal baffles that come loose.

They sound great on a Nissan Titan and practically no drone.

I personally rank them lower than eBay flowmaster kits. Cheaply made, produce terrible sound, and poorly affect performance. At least flowmasters sound good on old carbed pushrod engines. Gibson's sound like garbage on everything.

Magnapack or bullet with a Y pipe side exited dual outlet tip.

Man I swear if it hadn't been for my parents bein in bed I would have cracked up laughin when I saw that picture!

And see I know what i'm talking about lol, but I drive a 96 and a 75 f series so i'm "old school" in your terms. On my 390 they have a deep crisp sound. Once I get the timing all figured out on it i'll make some better vids.

Thanks guys... so the answer to GIBSON is NO, right? I like the style though, single pipe swept side. Any alternatives?

The best alternative would be to buy a good muffler and the tips, then have an exhaust shop supply the pipe and weld eveything into place. Much cheaper than a pre-made catback kit.
