How to get more power out of 4.9l?

1. brass contact cap and rotor
2. Autolite or Motorcraft plugs (properly gapped)
3. spark plug wires (500 ohms or less/foot)
4. MSD or Accel ignition coil
5. new O2 sensor
6. new fuel filter
7. cat-back exhaust
8. Airaid drop-in air filter
9. 130 amp alternator, new heavy duty starter solenoid
10. upgraded (heavy gauge) alternator harness, charging cable, and battery cables
11. electric fans

One of the areas to gain some power from these engines are in the head. You have to have the money to have work done to it though. Head work, the dual exhaust manifolds (not the single log from the older 300s) a nice single exhaust would wake it up. Clifford performance makes a nice but pricey set of headers if you're willing to spend almost $500 i believe it was.
