need exhaust help FAST...i have researched...

i have youtubed...and them crap *** vids to not help me in the least in trying to pic.

new member...have owned my 07 fx2 since the start of the year. i have been researching exhaust, and like many here i decided on magnaflow...

well the other day i go to my local muffler shop to price a few things and i made a mistake. after all the looking around i did i was not aware that by keeping my stock cats, no matter what exhaust i went with, nothing would be all that loud. he was out of magnaflow so he started selling me on either a glasspack or a flowmaster. i usually listen to ppl on forums rather than random people at shops, but i sort of made an impulse purchase. he told me nothing i would put on would be all that loud and that the glasspack would be the loudest and give the best performance of what he had. so...i ended up getting a sido glasspack dumped for 150...thinking i could add to it later if i didnt like it dumped.

anyway, to me, the glasspack sounds just a little better than an exhuast leak. i need some fast advice because i want to go back to the shop tomorrow and see if he can change my system and not make me eat all the cost of the glass pack.

what i want...i want loud...but i dont want the loudest thing out. i want a nice deep tone like everyone else. i was thinking about going with the high flow cats...he wants 225 each installed, and also looking at going with the magnaflow. money isnt really a problem, but i dont want to spend more than i have to to get what i want....so im wondering what the difference is between...

hf cats with a true dual maggie
hf cats with a sido maggie
hf cats with a siso maggie

in sound an performance? i think i listed them in order of most expensive to least expensive. guy at the shop said the only difference will be the true duals will be just a little louder...but not much...so i didnt see the reason to spend the extra money.

also in terms of what muffler size to get?

and lastly....if there is something i missed as far as leaving the stock cats...but still getting a great sound, let me know.

and with the hf cats is truck going to throw a o2 code? guy at the shop said it could go either way on my truck and what is the fix if it does? i was told i could go to another shop to have it programed to read good or by and illeagal o2 sensor.

thanks in advance guys...

Put a dynomax bullet on. Exit it out the side before the rear tire with a 4" tip, and you will be satisfied. It will be loud and i doubt you will want high flows.

I have pre cats and 2 rear cats (so 4 total). You have 2. Your will be louder than mine. If you want louder, put high flows on. But go with the bullet and I would be surprised if you want louder.

Mine just has the two cats like yours, I went with straights because I like the sound better than mufflers. Bullets will be nearly as loud as my setup, if you want an idea of the sound level you can listen to mine.

you definately would be satisfied just going ahead and installing two high flow cats. i got my magnaflow ones from preformance peddler for 50 each shipped. they made a huge differnce in volume level.

I went with SI/SO 3" Magnapack, I didn't put on highflow cats but I ditched the rear two cats which is basically like having them without the cost. Unfortunately you can't do that because you have two big oem cats, so it would be worth it to go with high flows for the sound and better flow. Like he ^ said order from performance peddler, they have the best prices on the internet. Here is a video of my setup the day I put it on, it is louder now that it has broken in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wci5Dv57r1U

Bullets, Magnapacks, XR1's and Stingers. All sound great, but the last 2 get up there in the prices. Since I'm already typing about prices, buy every component online (except for the pipes). Performancepeddler.com with the "clubgp" code is my personal favorite place for exhaust related stuff.

As for cats, you need to swap them for some hi-flows or delete them all together to reach that level of true greatness. There are the few exceptions that sound fine with stock cats, but they're few and far between.

Finally, check out the exhaust guide and the contest that are stickied up top. There are some great exhausts in both and they will help you make a decision.
