My truck is older and I find it worth the extra cost for a good sounding exhaust.
Show the truck some love and it will return the love guaranteed.

Not trying to start an argument but, my truck is far from perfect shape and has 250k miles, it is still worth sounding good. Stock exhaust is not expensive.

So then you want to spend a few bucks on a good muffler, or sound like a tractor/diesel/***.

If you don't want stock then you need to spend some money for a good exhaust or else it will end up sounding like a turd.
I have a hollowed cat, which I think kill the sound of a sixxer and a cherry bomb extreme SI/DO. Sounds damn good at idle, still like an inline at high rev though.
Any junkyard exhaust is gunna be rusted just as bad.

no it's all new piping from the manifolds back. New Y pipe, hollowed cat, 2.5" mid pipe to cherry bomb extreme to 2.25 dual rear exits. 3" tips on the ends.

If your hell bent on not spending much money, look into craigslist. i bought a cherry bomb extreme, and tips and paid $75 for all of it. My muffler shop charged $30 to put it on, i could have done it my self but my driveway is a current mud hole. 250k miles is nothing for those engines. the one i have at my deer lease has well over 400k on it and i dont ever recall changing the oil. the 300I is definitely the best 6 cyl ever made.

Google a cherry bomb extreme.
Its just the muffler, you'd have to pay for pipes, just look ay shops n see what they would charge to weld up pipes a muffler and tips, if you want tips.
