07 f150 intake leaking

Is anyone having issuesnwith the intake manifold on this truck? I am leaking coolant....sometime...out of the top of the manifold. I just wanted to see if anyone was experiencing similar issues. 55 k on the truck so it is out of warranty, any advice will help. If i have to replce it please reccommend which replacement to buy and where to get it. If i am changing it i may as well go for performance.

You would only have to replace the gasket, and there really is no performance intake for your pickup. The stock manifold is ideal for a strong low torque curve.

Thumbs up

You have a 2007 with 55,000 miles?

What is the warranty start date?

My 2007 F-150 has a 5 year 60,000 mile basic powertrain warranty.

To quote from pages 10-11 of the 2007 warranty guide, 5th printing:

(1) Your vehicle’s Powertrain components are covered for five years
or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The extended coverage applies to
the Engine: all internal lubricated parts, cylinder block, cylinder heads,
electrical fuel pump, electronic engine control unit, engine mounts, flywheel,
injection pump, manifold (exhaust and intake), manifold bolts, oil
pan, oil pump, seals and gaskets, thermostat, thermostat housing, timing
chain cover, timing chain (gears or belt), turbocharger/supercharger unit,
valve covers, water pump; Transmission: all internal parts, clutch cover,
seals and gaskets, torque converter, transfer case (including all internal
parts), transmission case, transmission mounts; Front-Wheel Drive:
axle shafts, bearings (front and rear), center support bearing, drive
shafts, final drive housing (including all internal parts), hubs-automatic
front locking (four-wheel drive), locking rings (four-wheel drive), seals
and gaskets, universal and constant velocity joints; Rear-Wheel Drive:
axle shafts, bearings (front and rear), center support bearing, drive axle
housing (including all internal parts), drive shaft, propeller shafts, retainers,
supports, seals and gaskets, universal and constant velocity joints.
My 2007's warranty is still good awhile yet.

It is still in the power train warranty ( i should know I have been through 4 trannys in this thing) but Ford told me that the intake (and this problem) was not covered by the warranty. Where did you get this information so that I can go to those jerks and show them the warranty definitions!!! you just saved my day and made me super happy at the same time!!!!

tbear853...or anyone else- I have an aftermarket CAI and have made an apt with the dealership for MOnday to have this fixed. Should I put the stock CAI Back on before taking the truck in? My worries are that they will try to say that the K&N CAI caused the problem and that they will not cover it under warranty. Let me know your thoughts.

I doubt that it would make a difference to them as the CAI isn't going to cause a leak ....

.... but if you have the stock one and it's not too much trouble, sure can't hurt to put it back.
