Do flowmaster 40's sound high pitched?

I called flowmaster today and the guy said that I shouldn't put the 40 series on my truck because it sounds too high pitched with a v6. I've also read on the message boards about people who have put it on their truck and they say it sounds great. I'm going to go with the SI/DO setup, and I'm going to keep the stock Y-pipe for now. SO what should I do? Go with the 40 series or the 50 series like the flowmaster tech recomended? I want it to be loud but I don't want it sounding like a weedeater.
Thanks,
Justin

From my understanding the FM 40s are louder and deeper than the 50s. I have the 40s SI/DO with my V8 and they are anything but high pitched. If I'd pick one of them to be high, I'd think it would be the 50s.

go with the flow.

Im running the Flowmaster 40 Deltaflow (you cant really get the reg. FM40's any more) on my 4.2 v6 - its a cat back ststem. SIDO. 2.5 in (stock) and dual 2.25 out.

Trust me. You will make kids cry, scare wildlife - and turn heads

What do they sound like inside the truck? I'm looking for something that is going to have that deep resonnance but that doesn't sound like a tank in the cab. Know what I mean?

It's either the Flowmaster 40 DF's or the Gibson SS. I kind of like the duals out the back fromt he Flowmasters but I've heard the Gibson before and I don't know anyone with a FlowMaster.

Thanks for the help guys.

Cool

Get the FM's. I love mine to death and there is little cab resonance. Just enough there to let you know youve got a sweet sounding truck

The Flowmaster 40s are very deep sounding...I had one on my f150 for a while but have since decided that it was too loud for me. I am now switching to Flowmaster 70 series to quiet down my system. I have duels out the back. If you want a good deep sound then the Flows are the way to go. The 40s are the real deal.
