Need some advice

Before I start, please forgive any misunderstandings; I have no experience with any of this. And thanks for any help.

I have been following this thread. He seems to have similar tastes in sound as I do. I am curious if the setup you guys provided him with would sound good on my 2005 4.6L STX. Here is the setup he ordered I was reading the exhaust guide and it cleared a lot of things up, but I am still unsure of what I actually need to go from stock to a SIDO.

Let me know if I need to give you guys any more info. Thanks again.

Are there any advantages to either one?

Also, I looked up some Youtube videos if they will help.

So what would you recommend me get to get mine to sound like the first one? I wasn't planning on going straight pipe; I don't like the look of it.

And I really like your setup, fine_style150.

well the first vid you posted is a truck using flowmasters, all you have to do is buy a flowmaster muffler or equivalent (thrush welded, v-force, flowsound, etc.) and it will some pretty close.

But if you want what you had posted in your first post in this thread, you'd wanna go with a magnaflow muffler. To go from a single exhaust to a single in/dual out isn't hard at all. Just by a muffler or your choosing that is a single inlet/dual outlet configuration. The one thing you need to know is the diameter of your intermediate pipe (the pipe between where the y pipe is, and the muffler.) I think it's 2.75"? 3" at the most but i'm not sure. But say if it's 2.75", you want a muffler with a single inlet of 2.75", and then the two outlets being either 2.25" or 2.5" no bigger and no smaller. Then you take it to an exhaust shop and have them put it on and tell them where you want the two pipes exiting the muffler to exit at.

Should look into a magnaflow y-pipe (strongly advised on here) and tips of your choosing, selecting the right diam. of course.

IMO the flowmaster sounds great, but its what you like not me.

blah blah blah blah blahhh

Yeah I really like the way the truck in the first video sounds.

I only linked the other guy's setup because he seemed to have a similar preference in sound, but I think the first video sounds better than what he was looking for.

My setup would be something like: flowmaster muffler, magnaflow y-pipe, and tips of my choosing right?

oh no no, there is a y-pipe that joins the pipes coming off of the exhaust manifolds together. When you get the chance look under your truck and you'll see what i'm talking about. But yea that, then a single in/ dual out flowmaster muffler and you choose the tips you want if you run the pipes out the back or to the sides. so if you decide to go with 2.5" pipes after the muffler, you would want tips that have an inside inlet diameter of 2.5"

quick question about which muffler, how loud can you handle till you can't stand it?

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.

I want it to sound aggressive, but I don't want it to be stupid loud. Does that answer your question?

well if you want to go with flowmaster, then the super 44 might sound good. My point is it may drone, but if you have it placed as far back from the cab as possible, and tailpipes exiting in the rear, it should be fine.

I can link everything to give you an idea of what you want if you'd like?

if you want to go stainless steel then go this one
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLO-80430402/

if not then go with this one
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLO-9430452/

here's the y-pipe, but i don't know if the inlet diam is right, so check on that one
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-10778/

this is just an example for a tip, although it is the right inlet size and nice length
