I'm back. I keep reading where people are saying get straight pipes. What does that mean and what does it affect?
Also, would I need anything extra in order to do something like this?

Before I start, please forgive any misunderstandings; I have no experience with any of this. And thanks for any help.
I have been following this thread. He seems to have similar tastes in sound as I do. I am curious if the setup you guys provided him with would sound good on my 2005 4.6L STX. Here is the setup he ordered I was reading the exhaust guide and it cleared a lot of things up, but I am still unsure of what I actually need to go from stock to a SIDO.
Let me know if I need to give you guys any more info. Thanks again.

My truck is in the shop today getting that setup installed. Ill put up a video as soon as i get it back.

straight pipes IMO should be kept to older trucks like me only. you probably wouldn't like it on your truck. All you have to do pretty much is copy and print that picture you posted and tell the shop that's what you want them to do.

oh no no, there is a y-pipe that joins the pipes coming off of the exhaust manifolds together. When you get the chance look under your truck and you'll see what i'm talking about. But yea that, then a single in/ dual out flowmaster muffler and you choose the tips you want if you run the pipes out the back or to the sides. so if you decide to go with 2.5" pipes after the muffler, you would want tips that have an inside inlet diameter of 2.5"

I'm looking for some tips that I like right now. What is the shortest (and longest) tip length I should be considering to have a setup like the picture I posted? Does tip length even matter or can the shop come up with a solution to make both long and short tips look good?

I'm still set on getting the Flowmaster Super 44 so I have to do 2.5'' for the pipes right?
