need a tuner or not?

I have seen the answer to this before, but i cant find it again or remember. I have an exhaust leak in my left manifold and i am sick of hearing that annoying ticking and i was thinking of getting headers. Shorty or long tube dont matter. Now would i need to retune? I dont have any other performance upgrades. And would the headers just bolt right up or would I have to do others things to the exhaust? not really looking for more performance I just get rid of that ticking, although power would be a nice bonus. Is it a pain to put them in cause it sure looks like it?

AFAIK they are a pita to install, you NEED a custom tune and the exhaust will need to be redone to bolt up to the headers. Why not just put a new manifold gasket on?

There is a performance gain with LT if you tune for it. I recommend that route.

well im not sure if its the gasket or the manifold its self. I was told the left manifold. I got a price from the shop for $700 so im assuming its the manifold for that price. so i figured i would do headers and have both sides done instead of getting just one side done and a little while later the other side has to be fixed too. I guess i should look into it a little more to see if it is the gasket.

If you are not going to tune for the headers, don't waste your time and money.
