Exhaust decisions

I've always loved Magnaflows and am thinking about just welding in an 18" Magnaflow into my stock exhaust pipe. I don't plan on heavily modding the truck so will I benefit any more from true duals than I would simply welding in the single muffler? Furthermore, I am looking for a little different sound. How do Borlas compare in sound to Magnaflow?

if you remove cats, which i dont exactly know which ones because i dont have a truck like yours, and run true duals with an h or x-pipe, yes you will see gains over stock with a replacement muffler. You wont notice anything but sound by just swapping a muffler on a stock system.

You will pretty well only gain more and better tone from a dual setup. Borla will sound similar, but it will retain that deep tone all the way threw the rpm range while magnaflow will get a rasp to it in the high rpm range.

I don't have any experience with Borla but from what I have read and researched they are overall a little better muffler/system than a Magnaflow. With that being said I have a Magnaflow 16523 system and love it, I also do not get any rasp what so ever with it.

Borla's are good but only a select few, and they're all expensive. I only like a select few Magnaflows, but they are so much cheaper.

Exhaust is done. Magnaflow 14" in the stock piping with a nice angle cut tip. Sounds pretty mellow but nice!
