duals

After doing more research, im thinking about either A) cuting the y pipe and puting in a x pipe ran back to DI/DO, or B) x pipe ran back to 2 SI/SO,
im also considering eleminating my cat, but dont know
A little input on the pros and cons of both would be great

You could go either way on the muffler setup. Removing your cats will require a tune for best results. You fuel/air ratio will be more accurate. It will make more noise, but it is illegal.

Di/do can be cheaper plus some have the x pipe built in so that can save you quite a few more bucks, I don't know brand or types of mufflers your interested in?

I took my cats out on my old true dual setup that had two flowmasters 40, it made the sound quite louder but extremely raspy. I regretted cutting them out. But if your going to use magnaflow, dynomax, borla, etc this probably won't be as much of an issue since they are less raspy to begin with. Like stated above it is also illegal, consider some high flow cats to stay legal and for more sound volume and better flow. Personally after doing mine I would wish I left it alone but i no longer have that setup.
