Exhaust Install Cost?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but the search provided no answers.

I am looking at the Magnaflow #16520 split rear exhaust and am wanting to have it installed. Looks like I can get this at PerformancePeddler with the coupon code for $410. How much should I expect to pay for install?

Please don't just tell me to do it myself either. I know I am capable, but I have more money than time right now, and it's cold as **** outside, so that's not happenin. Thanks.

If you lived around here I would do it for you.

Thanks, wish that worked too. Ever since I posted that, I've been reading on exhausts, now my head is spinning. Maybe I might go the Magnapack route. I really don't know what to do? When I go on performancepeddler, it gets real confusing ordering the parts individually as opposed to getting the whole system.

That's what I'm thinking. So how do I run a SIDO magnapack? I don't think true duals are for me, a little too aggresive. Do I just need a Y-pipe, a SIDO magnapack, and two tips? Oh, and 2 hi flow cats?

Single mid pipe, magnapack, Y pipe into a dual exit of your choice. A very popular system, and everybody loves it.

High Flow cats are your choice if you want it louder and more aggressive. I suggest trying it first, and then if you want more aggression, do the 94106 cat swap.

Very good advice. I got to thank you and others on here for being so patient. I'm sure its got to be annoying to have noobies like me ask the same questions over and over, but I rarely see anybody complain about it. Thanks 4.6 Punisher for your advice as well.

So I need a midpipe, 3" or 2.5", provided by install shop, or do I purchase that somewhere? Then Magnapack #10416. Then Y-pipe #10768. Then tips of my choice, I'm thinkin #35114 for the 3.5" x18 " rolled tips. As you stated, I will try that first, then consider the hi flow cats. Sound about right?

Also, are there any underneath pictures of this setup. I have found vids for sound, but would love to see how it looks? I want to have the common split rear exit in the back.

Sounds good. The shop will have pipe for your mid pipe, but it will not be stainless. If you want stainless then you will need to order some before you go to the shop. You could also call them and see if they have stainless pipe, but most shops do not.

Let me know what route you go and if you don't mind how much you find out the install cost. Wouldn't mind adding a little more roar to my truck. Its nice to finally have my truck back. It was in storage most of my enlistment and there is alot I want to do to it now. I'm most likely going to order off of Performance Peddler too. Where did you find the coupon code?

The code is clubgp. When I did my true duals I was out $465 for the parts and $50 for labor. Parts included the pipe which I got from the installer. And it was all Stainless Steel.

I can't speak to the benefits of an X pipe and true duals versus a SIDO style setup. Many here will tell you that true duals are better. It's hard for me to compare because I did bigger wheels, a Gryphon programmer, and true duals in rapid succession. I can't feel much of a difference in my true duals versus my SIDO flowmaster. What difference I feel might be because it was tuned for duals. Personally though, wouldn't trade my dual magnapacks with my X-pipe for any other setup including, for the moment, Borlas. I was out a little over $500 for my entire SS setup. Most will spend that much or more for a catback system.

Thanks all, yeah I would gladly pay $400 out the door with install, but I have a feeling I'm gonna have a hard time finding cheap labor once I get all the parts in, happens to me all the time.

So what size do I use for my midpipe. If I use that magnapack with that Y-pipe, then I would have the shop use 2.5"? I don't care much about having stainless. I mean, the roads are super salty here in the winter, but I would rather replace the exhaust in 7 years than pay double for the initial cost, all evens out in the end and I'll never see anything but the tips anyway.

I'll let you all know how it turns out. How far back from the magnapack do you put the Y-pipe? That's why I was hoping for pics.

product unit price qty price
MAG10768
$29.74 1 $29.74
MAG10416
$53.38 1 $53.38
MAG35114
$43.25 2 $86.50

Sub Total: $169.62
Grand Total: $169.62

So far, so good. Much cheaper than the $410 for the Magnaflow #16520 setup.
