Which Intake System?

What cold air intake systems are you guys running and what gains are you seeing out of them? Most seem like 1-2 mpg increase and a nice note. Looking at ordering one this weekend. Thanks

Don't buy one. Do the Gotts mod, less than $15.

i have the k&n and wish i had saved the money and gone with the gotts mod. k&n installed in minutes but didn't provide any real noticeable gains in either mpg or horsepower. save the money!!!!!!

I had the K&N but recently took it out. Too much drone, my IAT was at least 10 degrees higher than stock and not much performance gain at all, even with custom tunes. The Gotts mod is so much better than a CAI. My mileage is up at least .5mpg and the throttle response and power are much more noticeable.

I got a AEM used from here, I liked it.
I twas loud, and noisy (but annoying at times) but I went back to stock.

If you must get one for a 04-08 5.4 I suggest a tuner/programmer as well.

But really, do the gotss mod.

This coming from a guy who had a CAI, and went back to stock.

Ive looked at the gotts mod threads before but never noticed anyone post about any sound difference at all. Do you notice any??

Personally i love the sound of an opened air box. reminds me of the good ole days of 4 barrel carbs!

I had a 94 3.0 ranger before i just bought my 08 F150 Lariat and let it breathe better by just adding a washer between the covers at the locking bolt and i couldnt believe the difference in sound and throttle response!!
