question about exhuast

i have a cherry bomb on my truck. but i'm just not getting the low growl i want. i still have the stock cat on it and i figure thats why. is there any other way to get better sound besides removing or replacing the cat. i dont have a ton of money so something i can do my self would be best. i have all the tools necessary just need some ideas. thanks

wow im surprised the pack doesn't growl enough. they sure do on my 390 although im changing my whole exhaust soon. Replacing your cats with high flows or just taking them off if you don't have inspections in your area would help a lot...

i'm not exactly sure how yours are set up. My 96 has two cats, does yours have one after each manifold and one where everything comes together?

i'm sure places like jegs and maybe performance peddler sells them, but i for sure know summit does. magnaflow makes a nice cat from what others say.

Other than the price unless you are willing to spend money, this might be interesting for you:http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-93312/
