What he said. Glasspacks sound decent on these older trucks and sure are loud. A chambered muffler would sound good too.

well first he has to mention or not if his area is strict on having the cats or not. and i agree with the above statement the glasspacks and chambered do sound good on basically any ford v8 pre97 before they changed to triton

That's probably pretty good, just as long as the pipe where it would go is 2.5" in dia. Mine is 3" so i'd make sure your's is/isn't

It illegal to not have cats every where, Just don't get caught mahaha.
Have you tried just plain straight pipes? And I do believe a nice tip will help some too.

i also heard that a new cold air intake will give it a little sound to. is this false?

It won't make the exhaust any different, it will give you a slight 'shwoosh' intake noise. And if you have a loud exhaust you won't hear it anyways. Your stock intake is better than the aftermarket ones anyway, the sort of 'ram air' factory design is one of the best imo.

Also this just came to mind, a K&N drop in replacement filter will be really good for your motor.
They are kind of expensive but I have heard they work really well, much better than a full on "cold air intake"

There is no place in the US where having no catalytic converters is legal at all... The only vehicles able to run without cats are 1974 & older vehicles unless originally equipped.
