Stock exhaust with no cats??

I'm wondering if my '98 4.6 would be noticeably louder at all than stock if i cut the cats out but left the stock muffler in place?

Going to sound weird and 'air-ish' hollow with a stock muffler.

I ran a 98 cobra with an off-road h-pipe and stock mufflers for a while. 4v vs 2v but it really didn't sound bad at all. Not sure about the truck setup though.

There's a big difference between a stock Cobra muffler, and the 50 gallon drum they stick under F150's.

I wouldn't do it. just change the muffler if you want some sound.
