Need a pipe check please

Man, ive been reading for a while now on exhaust setups. There are a lot of things to consider that i never realized...I know its been asked a crap ton of times, kinda like the wheels and tire sections....
Heres what i got 2010 Crew 6.5' bed FX4 5.4l
I like the ROR, but it seems pretty pricey from what i am used to....So i have an alternative.

From what i have read Borla is pretty much a roush muffler? Can anyone tell me which Borla muffler...I am going to do a SIDO to 4"x18" rolled tips and im thinking two high flow cats.

Ok now heres kinda where i got lost was pipe sizing...I was thinking about 3inch to the muffler then 2.5" from the muffler to rear exit. Also if i decide to not do cats, would it be worth replacing factory Y with say a H or X pipe?

Heres one i found.2.5"in 2.5out http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Borla...item5adda7f015
Thats probably too long though 19"

Careful on 2009+ exhaust mods... they essentially have shorty headers and hiflows from the factory. Do the muffler swap first

Plus you cant get ROR for 2009+ even if you wanted. Its not a direct fit, it would require custom tweaks.

There is no Borla muffler thats real close to the ROR sound. Imo, run a 11" Magnaflow or true duals like I used to, closest sound to ROR, but better sounding/performing.

well i think that avfrog has a good idea, go Borla Pro-xs it will give you a good rumble but not anything overkill... if you install one and still dont like the sound, just go straight pipe till your ears bleed and then you'll want that proxs back! haha

Thanks for the info. I had true dual 14" maggies before. I liked them, just needed an X or H pipe to even it out. I think im going to do a SIDO this time though.

So the next question is.........http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/universalmuffler.asp
which one? I know the smaller the muffler the louder the sound right? just wondering about in and out diameter.

A SI/DO Borla Pro XS would be mild with stock cats. It is a 19" case.

I just did the Magnaflow SI/DO cat back on my 06 f150 with the 5.4 and I love the sound of it. It has a nice deep rumble at idle but not obnoxious. When your up to cruising speed it's hardly noticable in the cab with the windows up but when you put your foot in it, it sounds off pretty good. It is a 3" in / 2- 2.5" out with the 3.5" X 18" tips exiting the bumper.

Yeah avfrog i want a little more then the 19" borla...Im like parrothead. ive had the maggie before and flows before. I wanted to try something different, but that other crap is toooo pricey IMO for the same result. i really liked my 14" magnaflows..I guess thats what ill do this time only SIDO instead of true duals. Any comments on the Banks monster exhaust?? its says CHRISTMAS SALE!!! ha...ill check it out.
