I am new here, would appreciate any help.

I have a 2004 Ford F150 V8 5.4
Tried starting it one day and it made a sucking noise then white smoke came out from under the hood. Open it up and saw that the smoke was coming from the air intake / filter area. removed filter and more smoke came out. Once it cleared i put it back together and started it up. Now it hesitates and knocks. Engine light is on with the following codes: P0171, P0174, P2195, P2197. Research tells me that the O2 sensors are detecting that the engine is running lean. I have done the following: replaced air filter, gas filter, and cleaned the MAF sensor. I have seen some improvement, but engine light still on with same codes. Should i go ahead and change out the O2 sensors as well or is there something else i should check?

Hopefully you used MAF cleaner on the MAF senser....
Have you checked for vacuum leaks?

You may have to take it in to a garage that has a scan tool so they can see what its doing while running..

you wanna look for any vaccum hoses that are cracked use some carb cleaner or ether while the engine is runnin spray any suspected lines and listen for the engine idle to change

also do it around your intake after the MAF and around the intake gaskets and what not if you can get there

thats what i would do then after that if nothin is found i would take it to a trusted shop that wouldnt over charge for what would be a simple diagnosis for them
