Navigator headers
Navigator headers
I'm looking into doing a 4.6 to 5.4 swap. For the money, I thought going with the 32v navigator would be the way to go. I was thinking of adding headers also, but can not find any reviews of gains using them. Anyone on hear know what a set of JBA's will do for 32v 5.4? I was a bit disappointed to find that they only net 17 hp and 11 ftlb of torque on the 16v PI 5.4.
well with the 32 valve you're looking at some big money for a set of long tubes since they aren't offered from mass production
as with any n/a motor the shorties are a waste of time and effort

I'm assuming you are calling them a waste of time because of peak gains.? I'm not looking to make big hp #'s, I'm looking for towing torque and improved efficiency. I've seen the dyno graphs for headers on 4.6's and the peak numbers stink. The low and mid range looks like a significant improvement, or are the numbers exaggerated? I'm wondering if similar results can be had with shorties on a 32v 5.4.
overall gains on the shorties make them worthless on the n/a motors , but they are a lil' better than stock
you can get a set of long tubes for about $800 plus coating for the 32 valve 5.4

Won't headers for 5.4 2v fit a 5.4 4v?
Will long tubes create interference with the tranny maintenance areas or elsewhere for that matter?
Will I notice more noise in the cab?
Where did you see them for $800?
