Bullet on '10 XLT question
Bullet on '10 XLT question
I recently purchased a '10 XLT with the 4.6 3V. I read and read here and on the other F150 forum on adding some sound to my truck and I concluded adding a 12" 2.5"diameter Dynomax bullet to the stock system would be a safe and relatively inexpensive way to do this.I contacted a good friend that installs exhausts and he stated that Ford engines like backpressure and the bullet would indeed increase sound but would kill some performance. I greatly value his opinion on this but I would like different thoughts on this.Help me out, please !
Im not an expert but as long as your still running your stock piping size and the stock y pipe you should have sufficient back pressure if thats a concern for you. But then again if it did totally kill back pressure how much loss of power are you really looking at losing here, probably a minute amount to really make any difference. I dont know much about the newer engines design so maybe someone else who does will chime in. Hope this helps

Maybe a Sticky with 'The Exhaust Guide' ?? That would cover up about 98% of all questions asked here.
I know that, but I was talking about making the ''myth of backpressure'' a sticky .. just as the exhaust guide is... but I just checked and the myth of backpressure is already in the exhaust guide thus making another sticky for that is pointless.
