Irons1n, I was wondering about that after I actually ordered the maggie 18" and had second thoughts that I should have gone with a longer body di/do. man I thought I had all of this figured out already but here I go again with muffler decisions.

it gets old after a couple months with a shorter body muffler

some people enjoy the noise, i prefer a good sounding exhaust

I have a magnaflow dual in/out part# 11379 I love the sound of it but I've been thinking about going to the magnapacks to let my cams talk to me a little more if you get the packs on and don't like em ill trade with you lol.

If I had to do it again I would get a 22" over 18" with no cats. I also ran 3.5" tips that also added to the problem the saleen kit I run now is perfect level of noise

I have to quit second guessing myself and just do it and see what happens. Im def going to exit the tips before the rear tire, side exit style. Im going to bolt up the 18" maggie and see how it sounds, if i dont like it im taking it right out, returning it and getting the 22". OR keeping the 18" and exiting the tips out the rear "dumped" style i guess you would say.

OH and irons1n what did you mean by the 3.5" tips added to the problem? I just ordered 3.5" tips like 5 minutes ago!

So my 18" Maggie came in the mail today. But man I have strong thoughts of sending it back for the 22". As I do a lot of driving so I don't want to die in the cab on 4-8 hour trips I have to make sometimes. Does anyone's know if the sound will change any going from Tue 18" to 22"? Not loudness or drone but actual type of sound produced by the muffler?

The bigger the tip the more it megaphones. I had mine exit after the rear tire and it was still to loud for me. Freeway driving was annoying. 22" would be better, if you plan before rear tire exit I would run high flow cats or glass packs to help quiet the noise. With my salesman exhaust its a little louder when I accelerate but cruise is very liveable and I think the quality of sound is better. I had dual 14" maggies with manifolds and 2 stock cats with 3" tips and it was perfect noise level. Actually to quiet. Then with obx no cats and dual in dual out 18" Maggie it was to loud on freeways and just cruising to the point i'd get headaches on long trips

irons1n-- I figured out thats what you meant after i replied about the tips, but I meant as far as a normal tip vs say resonated tip but nvm that sorry. So i guess im going to send my 18" maggie back and get the 22" after hearing what you said from experience. Ill have to figure out how to upload pics to this site, it says all of mine are to big of images. Thanks for your help!

So I have the headers, resonators and 22" Maggie exiting before the rear tires. It looks awesome and ill get some pics up but its SOOOOOO quiet you can barely hear it at all, inside and out. I'm kind of disappointed as to how quiet it is actually. I will be putting a supercharger on in January or February though so maybe that will give it a little more sound on acceleration, hopefully!
